Gum bleeding is often disregarded, but it is an important warning for oral health. If the gums bleed while brushing or eating, there is usually plaque and tartar build-up around the gums.
If gum inflammation is treated in the early stage, it is usually brought under control more easily. However, when neglected, it can lead to more serious problems such as gum recession, bad breath and loosening of the teeth.
It is not correct for people experiencing gum bleeding to stop brushing. On the contrary, brushing should continue with the correct technique and a dental check-up should be arranged.
